Obedience, puppy socialisation and Ringcraft training for all dogs.

Obedience Training Times & Classes

Wednesday nights are obedience nights although as a club member you are very welcome to just come along and sit and watch.  Please arrive in plenty of time for your class and if you have time, after signing in and paying your class fees, help yourself to refreshments as a selection of hot or cold drinks are always available and provided free of charge to club members.

We do encourage our members to stay on and watch the next class, it's all part of the learning process for your dog.

6:45 - 7:15 Puppy Class   4 weeks of socialising, teaching how to mix with other dogs, helpful advice on feeding, nutrition and which collar and lead would be most suitable for your pet.  This is a very important first introduction to dog ownership especially if this is your first puppy.

7:15 - 7:45 Puppy Training   This is the next stage, you move on to teaching the basics; sit, down and how to walk on the lead, this usually lasts a further 4 weeks, but please be assured that we don't push you on to the next class until both you and your trainer feel sufficiently confident to do so.

6:45 - 7:15 Bronze Award (1) This class is a little more serious.  You move up to the main hall where you and your dog will be encouraged to expand your training e.g. longer sits, stays, stands and recalls with some off lead work.  Pleasure and fun are the main criteria and you will be surprised how much more responsive your pet will become in a more competitive environment.

7:15 - 8:00 Bronze Award (2)  An increase in training, preparing the two of you for the rosette given to you on successfully achieving the award.

8:00 - 8:45 Silver Award  If you achieved the bronze award this is the natural progression in obedience for handler and dog.

8:45 - 9:30 Gold Awards  Guest trainers and instructors are invited to prepare you and your dog for Obedience shows and competitions.
